Once more...with feeling.
Hey all. It seems like forever since I have updated here. I hate not updating here as much when I update my other blog at least once a week. So I have thought on this for a couple of months. I hate bouncing around like crazy, but I couldn't find a place I really liked until now. I've gotten a new persona and now I blog about anything I want...dolls included. I've made a website, something I haven't had in a long time. And well I just like things where I am now and this place is just something I don't want to come back to. So if you still read this blog, could you, pretty please with sugar on top, join me over at my new home? You'll like it, I promise. Big Smile Come on over to Paisley Girl. My new home away from home. Thank you to everyone who visited me here and other places. It does mean alot to me, which is why I have come to bring you on over to my new home where I brought some of the old and mixed it with the new. Oh and be sure to change your bookmarks if you have any. This site blog will be closing soon. I can't say when because I may leave it a month or get a bug in my butt and close it tomorrow. Who knows. But thank you again for staying with me and I do hope to see you in the new home. Bye for now. ShadesBig SmileSmileWinkAngel

Hehehe, you won't believe what I picked up the other day.
I was in the Dollar Tree just looking around for some cheap books when I came across this in the toy aisle. I thought it would be perfect in my doll stories.

It's a mini polar bear in a cage. LOL! I wish I would have taken a picture of the back. I may still do it. Its not out of the package yet. But what it is, is you pour water into this spout on top and the bear slowly expands into a big polar bear. Which is all cute and dandy but look...

Isn't it to cute to make big? Its for Ann Marie. Her first pet. LOL! So yes, that will be showing up in my new doll comic that I am currently writing scripts for.

But I just wanted to show you guys my cute find. In the toy aisle at the Dollar Tree for anyone interested. Talk to you guys again soon as soon as I get my camera installed into my computer. I have some pictures to show you of something I half got but was kind of disappointed about after. But that's ok, it was mostly free to me and can still be used. More on that at another date. Bye for now.

Stuffs...
So in the past couple of weeks I gots some stuffs. Big Smile Creative stuffs at that. Big Smile So here goes with the first batch of stuffs. Big Smile

First, let's look at fabric stuffs. Big Smile

I was in Big Lots one day and saw this doll for $2.99 with this cute dress on. I almost bought her just for the dress when it hit me that the dress was poorly made and I could make the same dress only better. So one day while I was out, I bought the first three bits of fabric for the skirt of the dress.

Then before I headed home, I popped over to the only Walmart in town that has fabric...for now, and looked at their discount fabric. I got the following three pieces there for pocket change. The first one I want to use for an outfit. The second one I want to use for an outfit and for outfit lining of other outfits, and the last one is great outfit lining as well.

Then, I went looking around for the millionth time for FrayCheck. I looked for it every time I was there, but in the wrong spot! This time I was there I found it within seconds of starting my search. I had learned about FrayCheck reading Dorrie's blog. Now I hope I can learn to use it with ease like she did. LOL! But I have wanted some so bad and I am so glad I have finally found it.

The last two pics are of small buttons I found at two different stores. The first ones I found at Walmart on the button rack. The second onns I found on the clearance wall in Hobby Lobby. Oddly enough though, I found the second ones first and the first ones second. LOL! The second ones are a hair smaller than the first ones. I thought that was interesting.

So, those are my stuffs for right now. Very eager to get back to sewing to use them. But I want to look over my machine first and dust it out and oil it. Its gotten fair more use than when I first got it so I think its due. Right now I having fun with what I am doing now so I have time. Well, thanks for looking at my stuffs. Big Smile Talk to you again soon! Shades

The cutest doll!
Ok, so I am on the hunt for a bjd that I want to be my first. After looking at the tinies, and seeing some of them fit Kelly clothing, I decided to go for one of them since I have tonsss of Kelly and Tommy clothing. So the first doll I want to get are SO dolls from OrientDoll.

This doll is only 12cm or 4.5" tall. So cute! I just love it. I would have plenty of clothing for one or heck even two, and I could make clothing for it. It would fit into my new collection of dolls. I've decided to jump off the Babs bandwagon and only collect interesting and unique dolls. So this doll is a must-have for me. But on my search for other tinies, I found this next doll that I would LOVE to have.

This cutie is only 8cm tall! Just over 3 inches! Oh I so want one! The one on the left in yellow with the big open eyes. I could only hope to get those exact eyes. Love them on her. The other one is cute too, but sleepy and lazy. So I like the other one. Be sure to click on their pictures to see more.Oh another cute thing about the baby piggies is there is a whole baby furniture set you can buy. I would totally want it! So cute! Crib, high chair, etc. Its on the site too. Check it out.So yeah, I have my eye on two prizes right now. I must have one of each. They are so cute!!! Ok, I'm done being fangirlish now. Just wanted to share my finds with you. :-)

Ugh and ahh!!!
Ok, so I was all excited because I have TONS of stuff I have been making for my store that I was going to upload this weekend. I have some fall/winter gear made up in the form of hats and scarves hand knitted. These hats are made to fit dolls of 7, 8, and MAYBE 9 size head. It fits my Blythe's head with plenty of stretch to go bigger. It fits my Teen Trend's head too. I so need to find another Teen Trend to customize, but anywho. I also still have doll jewelry to sell and some stuff for actual people that can be worn. I was going to start taking pictures and upload them this weekend. I was all ready people until I got horrible news. Hurricane Hanna is heading straight for us!!! I'm not kidding you. Like right through my city and county. Usually my state gets hit with hurricanes but we usually just get a lot of wind, rain, and some storms. Well this time we are getting the actual storm...well its predicted we will. There's still a chance we won't get anything. Last time we had a bad storm my brother was still alive and we lost power for five days. Searing summer heat, no ac, eating cold food, and it being dark by 7ish and that was it, you were in the dark until 7ish the next day. It sucked. I remember when the power came back on. I was laying in my mom's bed with her talking and then the lights all of a sudden came back on in the middle of the night. We both yelled "YES!" at the same time. We cranked on that ac, turned on the fans, and watched some tv. LOL! That was about 10 or so years ago. So we are due something nasty. I'm a little worried, but not much. We'll handle it, come what may. So if you don't hear back from me with a "My store is open!" blog post, then you know Hanna is visiting me and who am I to be a rude hostess. Wish me luck guys. Hope to talk to you all again soon.

BJDs and YouTube
I hadn't realized what a great asset YouTube was to those who are interested in ball joint dolls. Sure I had seen some videos here and there about face-ups and whatnot, but today I ended up on YouTube through another site that had a link linking to a video on how to string a bjd. Well, from there I went hunting. Just type bdj in the search bar and you will get tons of videos on bdjs. One video I came upon was the short documentary about bdjs and the humans they own...doll owners will totally understand what I just said. But yeah, I thought I would share it with. I have been searching for what kind of bjd I'd like to have lately and this documentary just made me want one even more. I love the last line of the documentary and I agree with it 100%. LOL! Enjoy it.

Gas can for BJDs?
Ok, ok, I know this is a bigggg stretch, but when I saw this I thought to myself "Humm, I wonder if it would be in scale for a bjd?" LOL! Check it out, a flask shaped like a gas can.

gas can flask

Isn't she a beaut? LOL! Pick one up here if you are interested in owning one. For me, I think I will just drool over the picture. 26 bucks is a bit much for a flask that will only collect dust, but its still cool. :-)

S & M Babs? *Gasp!!!* Say it ain't so.
So, while Mattel is going good for itself right now with its recent win in court with MGA, it seems they just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Mattel has got some religious people up in a fluff over a doll they plan to release next month.

Good Barbie?

The group insists that "already tarty" Babs has taken it up a notch with her new persona. What is this new persona you ask? Why, none other than Black Canary Barbie.

S & M Baribe?

With her kinky fishnets, motorcycle jacket, black gloves and boots, Black Canary Barbie is turning out to be anything but the "clean-cut" Babs we all know and either do or used to love. But people, what's the ish? I mean, more than likely this doll with a on the pricier side. At least pricier than parents will be willing to pay. The doll is mostly a collector doll. And parents, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm sure your kids are seeing worse on tv. So take a deep breath and chillax. Babs is not some heathen of a hussy. Its just a comic book character, and Mattel has been doing good with their comic book character dolls. So let them do their thing. More than likely the ones who will be buying the dolls are adults, who are, mind you, old enough to make their own choices on what they want to buy. So leave little "impressionable" Babs alone, and go rally against something serious like world hunger. I swear, if people put as much emphasis on other things that they do on things that don't really matter, just think what they could accomplish in making the world a better place to live. I hope Mattel will still release the doll in September. Its just plastic people. Stop saying they will impose on young children's minds. I feel, if parents are doing a good job at home, then a doll will seem to child just what it looks like...a flippin' doll. With that, I step off my soap box and return you to your regular blog reading already in progress.
