Entry: S & M Babs? *Gasp!!!* Say it ain't so. Aug 17, 2008

So, while Mattel is going good for itself right now with its recent win in court with MGA, it seems they just can't seem to stay out of trouble. Mattel has got some religious people up in a fluff over a doll they plan to release next month.

Good Barbie?

The group insists that "already tarty" Babs has taken it up a notch with her new persona. What is this new persona you ask? Why, none other than Black Canary Barbie.

S & M Baribe?

With her kinky fishnets, motorcycle jacket, black gloves and boots, Black Canary Barbie is turning out to be anything but the "clean-cut" Babs we all know and either do or used to love. But people, what's the ish? I mean, more than likely this doll with a on the pricier side. At least pricier than parents will be willing to pay. The doll is mostly a collector doll. And parents, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I'm sure your kids are seeing worse on tv. So take a deep breath and chillax. Babs is not some heathen of a hussy. Its just a comic book character, and Mattel has been doing good with their comic book character dolls. So let them do their thing. More than likely the ones who will be buying the dolls are adults, who are, mind you, old enough to make their own choices on what they want to buy. So leave little "impressionable" Babs alone, and go rally against something serious like world hunger. I swear, if people put as much emphasis on other things that they do on things that don't really matter, just think what they could accomplish in making the world a better place to live. I hope Mattel will still release the doll in September. Its just plastic people. Stop saying they will impose on young children's minds. I feel, if parents are doing a good job at home, then a doll will seem to child just what it looks like...a flippin' doll. With that, I step off my soap box and return you to your regular blog reading already in progress.
